Disability Resource Centre

What the Disability Resource Centre is
The Disability Resource Centre is a day centre providing services for physically disabled and sensory impaired people living in Renfrewshire.

We actively promote independent living through various leisure, social, educational and employment activities and services.

What you can do at the centre
We aim to be a welcoming, supportive and inclusive place, where people come to socialise and network as well as taking part in activities.

We are flexible to peoples' needs. Some people choose to come to the centre for the whole day, while others take part in specific activities.

Some of the activities on offer include:

Art
tai chi
yoga
knitting
history
computing
film making
photography
woodwork
web design
gardening
social sciences
cookery
creative writing
relaxation.
We also run some activities outside of the centre, including:

swimming
sailing
music making
Gaelic classes.
Various disability groups and organisations use the centre for meetings and activities.

Facilities at the centre
The Disability Resource Centre has a range of specialist facilities including an accessible kitchen, library and club room.

A hot meal is available at lunch time. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.

It is in a light, airy, purpose-built building, surrounded by an accessible garden, close to the centre of Paisley.

We can arrange accessible transport to the centre within the Renfrewshire.

However, spaces are limited, and many people make their own way to the centre by accessible taxi or the My Bus service.

Registration and partnerships
The Disability Resource Centre is registered with and inspected by the Care Inspectorate.

We are part of the Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)

Our staff adhere to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) requirements.
